Full-Stack Engineer, Fleet Operations Dashboard

Operations teams watch robot status, battery levels and task queues in real time through Fernway's fleet dashboard, and this part-time role maintains it as feature requests arrive from customer-facing operations staff. Work is scoped in small, well-defined chunks rather than open-ended projects.

Recent examples include adding a filter for robots flagged for maintenance and fixing a chart that was miscounting idle time during shift changes at one large customer site. Most weeks the work is genuinely light and predictable, though the pace picks up briefly around quarterly customer business reviews when operations staff want the dashboard polished for a walkthrough with their own leadership. Requests arrive through a shared queue that a full-time engineer triages before handing pieces off.

Required: solid TypeScript and React skills, plus enough backend comfort with Node.js and PostgreSQL to work across the full stack when a fix requires it. Three to five years of full-stack experience fits this seat. Robotics domain knowledge is not required; the dashboard is a fairly ordinary web application sitting on top of unusual data, and most of the learning curve is about the data model rather than robotics itself.

Around twenty hours a week, fully remote from the United States or Canada, with scheduling flexible around the rest of your week. Part-time, reporting to a full-time engineer who prioritizes the backlog so you always know what matters most heading into a given week, with async updates replacing most live meetings.
