Infrastructure Program Director
Juniper Grid Infrastructure
About the role
Two infrastructure teams at Juniper Grid discovered last year that they were both blocked on the same vendor delivery, three weeks after it started costing them time, and preventing that kind of silent dependency now falls to this part-time director role.
You track cross-team infrastructure initiatives end to end, surfacing where one team's timeline quietly depends on another's and forcing that dependency into the open before it causes a slip. Risk management fills out the rest of the role: maintaining a live register of infrastructure risks and making sure the right leader owns mitigation for each one. You also manage relationships with external vendors supplying hardware and managed services, holding them accountable to commitments operations teams depend on downstream.
Required: real program management experience across infrastructure or operations organizations, comfort with formal risk management practice, and the credibility to hold vendors and internal teams to the same standard. Director scope here is about breadth of accountability across teams, not a specific year count, though this is not a first program management role. Deep technical hands-on infrastructure experience is not required — the role coordinates, rather than builds.
The role is part-time at twenty-five hours a week, with flexible scheduling, open to candidates globally, structured around a standing weekly program review. You report to the head of infrastructure operations. The first assignment is untangling that exact vendor dependency mentioned above before it quietly delays either team's roadmap for the quarter.
